sounds alot like old R.E.M. which is pretty good
familiar melody
GREAT SONG! And great performance on Conan last night. BUT.....they might be gettin a call from John Anderson. It sounds tooo much like his song "Seminole Wind"!
Where Have I Heard This Before?
Nice song, helped out by the use of the guitar riff from REM's "The One I Love". Hey, if you're going to borrow, why not borrow good stuff? I still like The Decemberists in spite of their recycling, maybe even more because of it.

Led by Montana native Colin Meloy, the Decemberists craft theatrical, hyper-literate pop songs that draw heavily from late-'60s British folk acts like Fairport Convention and Pentangle and the early-'80s college rock grandeur of the Waterboys and R.E.M. The band's initial lineup also included drummer Ezra Holbrook, bassist Nate Query, keyboardist/accordionist Jenny Conlee, and multi-instrumentalist Chris Funk.
