Refining The Vision
In his second album, Dr. Steel comes back just as strong, if not stronger, with a more finely honed message behind his music. Shorter than his debut album but packing just as much punch, Dr. Steel 2: Eclectic Boogaloo continues the theme of World Domination (with a song titled "Prelude to Domination", who could miss it?) and extends to separate features of a future World Leader's life. "Build the Robots", a long-time fan favorite, explores Dr. Steel's life outside of World Domination, speaking of his struggles to build his robotic toys and other gadgets; all of this, of course, set in a humourous-but-dead-pan lyrical capacity, making use of the good Doctor's excellent vocal talent. A separate but much-loved song, "Lament for a Toy Factory", details the history behind Dr. Steel, the man, with something like a dirge-turned-fusion. Other great songs in the album include "Childhood (Don't) A Go-Go" (an outcry for the need of everyone to accept their inner child), "The Dr. Steel Show" (self explanatory), and "Drop Da Bomb" (a reprise on the earlier theme of 1950's style paranoid propaganda), making the album much more than worth the money. Quality-wise, Dr. Steel is much of the same, which is hardly a bad thing. Using the already-shown expertise with music, a combination of sounds you might expect to hear in a B Sci-Fi movie, and the oddly-fitting accordion stylings of the good Doctor himself, the music weaves together a tapestry of audio-ecstasy. Just, try not to get lost in the bass beat.
To World Domination!
A Must Buy Album! All The Tracks Are Great To World Domination!
It continues!
Every Album has their genetic Sparks. Dr. Steel could very well be considerd the Beatles amongst mad scientists. With his high synthizing and witty coment Dr. Steel continues to manufacture his divine chords for World Domination.
