Ghh

Awesome. I live frank wildhorn and have been looking for other shows besides Jekyll & Hyde, and the Scarlett pimpernel.

Amazing

I've been waiting for this cd for at least two years, since I originally found it. It is definitely one of my favorite Wildhorn musicals, and all of these singers are amazing and fit their roles perfectly.

"At last [it's] here"

I have been following this recording since it was supposed to have been released clear back in...I think 2006.
I am a huge fan of Wildhorns work and I love the story of Dracula (the actual story, not the hollywood bastardized
versions.) This production does a remarkable job of portraying this dark and tragic love story with all the depth of
character that is missing in most productions.
The cast is spectacular and the orchestrations are beautiful and catchy.
Personal favorites include the duets "At Last" and "Life after Life" both stunningly beautiful in their own way, although evoking entirely different moods (Sort of reminiscent of the duets from Jekyll and Hyde "Dangerous Game" and "Take Me As I Am"). "Before the Summer Ends" gets me all teary-eyed every time, Rob Evan needs to release more recordings so more people can enjoy his amazing voice. Euan Morton's Renfield is spot on. He is enough of a lunatic to creep you out, but not so much that he is just a caricature. His evil laugh was perfect and sent chills down my spine. I had never heard of Lauren Kennedy prior to this, but I am definitely a fan now. The amazing Norm Lewis' only song "Deep in the Darkest Night" served its purpose very well as the shows rousing motivational song. My only exposure to Kate Shindles voice was in "Legally Blonde" which frankly didn't do her justice, it was nice to finally get to hear what she can do with that voice of hers. Finally, James Barbour...I think he may well be one of the best voices in Broadway I have ever heard, I have never heard a song of his that didn't leave me saying "wow". His voice carries so much emotion that you feel the whole spectrum of the character of Dracula: bloodlust, power, despair, hope, exultation, passion, and ultimately, serenity.
Obviously, being a studio recording the show is incomplete. The production could use a light-hearted number, some group scenes (a quartet with Harker, Dracula, Mina, and Van Helsing would be pretty cool, I think), and just more songs in general for Rob Evan and Norm Lewis. Despite all that, it has definitely been worth the wait and stands quite well on its own as a production I would pay good money to see.
If you are fans of Wildhorns work this recording is a must.
