Album Review
Dreamatorium is a set of ominous dark sounds from Death Cube K, an anagram for Buckethead, who is provided with sound design and arrangement support from Bill Laswell. This is malevolent minimalism at its best. Laswell's sound design incorporates deep drones and experimental sounds. Buckethead's guitars surround the sounds and set the pace for the whole ordeal. This CD is essential frightful ambience. It will appeal to fans of Rapoon, Lustmord, and Requiem.
Customer Reviews
Appropriately Named... Fantastic Nonetheless
The title of the album "Dreamatorium" is the easiest way to describe the feeling of the album. It is airy, open, haunting, and blankets you in the emotion of the music-- the music you would expect to hear if you were consciously in a mysterious dream. The album is the pinnacle of Buckethead's experimentation in the Avant Garde genre, and encompasses a lot of different influences rolled into one. If you are a fan of tracks like Jordan, Night of the Slunk, or Nottingham Lace, you may not get the Buckethead you were expecting, but if you like ambient and experimental sound and music, Buckethead certainly takes it to a different level on this album.
Why?
Buckethead is the best guitarist ever. He has done more than anyone else. Why is he still so unknown? He clearly deserves moer attention than this!!!
Incredible
This album incorporates high tech electronic effects and Buckethead's guitar playing. It is, overall, very mellow and dark, which is perfect. Definatly a must for any Buckethead fan or someone who wants something to play at Halloween.
