Album Review

From the beginning of the first track "Dark & Long," Underworld's focus on production is clear, with songwriting coming in a distant second. The best tracks ("MMM Skyscraper I Love You," "Cowgirl") mesh Hyde's sultry songwriting with Emerson's beat-driven production, an innovative blend of classic acid house, techno and dub that sounds different from much that preceded it. In a decade awash with stale fusion, Underworld are truly a multi-genre group.

Dirty epic is the greatest song ever

Listen to "dirty epic" with the lights out, your eyes closed and headphones on...genius song, great group!! Buy this album...it's what made me start listening to electronic mucic way back in high school...16 yrs later it still sounds fresh. Dope album.

Monumental

This release still captivates with the perfect blend of moody atmospherics, mesmerizing lyrics that feel both stream of conscious and anthemic at the same time and beats that can't be denied. They've gone on to create some of the most memorable dance music of the last 20 years but nothing can compare to the sheer delight of discovering this music and for that reason this is their best release. Don't get me wrong...they've released better, more cohesive albums but this one is the gold standard.

The Best "Electronic" Album Ever Made.

Nearly 18 years later, and still no album has exceeded the brilliance of Dubnobasswithmyheadman. That this was produced in 1994 is simply mind-boggling, as it blends the lines between so many genres with such precision. This album spearheaded the rise of an era that cemented electronic greats such as Orbital, Prodigy, and The Chemical Brothers as legends, and as of 22 November 2011, I still have yet to hear a song that is more brilliant than Cowgirl. Truly genius. There aren't enough stars in the universe with which to rate it.
