Album Review

On Dying Is Your Latest Fashion, Vegas quintet Escape the Fate are actually quite competent in the emo vein of post-hardcore that they reside in, providing all of the emotional singing versus throaty growling and winding guitar lines versus hardcore breakdowns necessary. The pummeling drumbeats never falter (except in the obligatory acoustic closer, the bitter "The Day I Left the Womb"), and the band's collective love of metal is always lingering somewhere in the background. Escape the Fate do it up with enough p**s, vinegar, and melodic hooks to spare, the mosh pit sure to swell and explode at the mere opening notes of their sets, although the music sounds like it could be played by From First to Last, the Used, or a more abrasive My Chemical Romance. The band addresses love and loss through standard-issue blood-soaked imagery of guillotines, corpses, red lipstick, and darkness, and vocalist Ronnie Radke sounds like he means each impassioned line. Fans of every eye-linered band Victory Records puts out will care about what he's saying, and for them, Escape the Fate deliver the goods sealed with a tough, fashionable sneer.

I know why itunes put this on here twice! and ETF is amazing!

Haven't u noticed? On this album all the songs have ringtones! That is so awesome. O, and Escape The Fate rocks! I love them sooooooo much. U should buy this! I think the best songs on here are numbers: 2,3,5,7,9,10, and 11. I love the lyrics. My favorite song on here right now is Friends And Alibis, because i love how it says " they always told me i was gorgeous in a way, and that fateful day, i found who i was. So fill this hole with my perscriptions. i just keep feeding my addictions. " It's amazing. I <3 Escape The Fate!

One of my favorite albums

I loved Dying Is Your Latest Fashion the moment I first heard it. Each song deserves five stars, but I'll rate them out of 10. The Webs We Weave: 9/10 - Great album starter. When I Go Out, I Want to Go Out On A Chariot of Fire: 9/10 - really good. Situations: 10/10 - interesting song(note the sarcasm)... love it. The Guillotine: 9/10 - great song, could listen to it all the time! Reverse This Curse: 9/10 - I love this song! Vocals by Ronnie are amazing. Cellar Door: 9/10 - Really good song, sick lyrics. There's No Sympathy for the Dead: 10/10 - I love this song. The ending is beautiful. My Apocalypse: 10/10 - the first time I heard this song I cried. I'm not sure why, but it just hit me. Friends and Alibis: 8/10 - Pretty good, not my favorite. Not Good Enough for Truth In Cliche: 10/10 - Brilliant song, one of my all time favorites. The Day I Left the Womb: 7/10 - Ronnie's singing is off. Ronnie's live vocals aren't great, but recorded are wonderful! It's too bad he's gone, however, Craig Mabbitt is an amazing vocalist. He should be wonderful for ETF's future - with Ronnie, they weren't moving forward.

Biography

Formed: Las Vegas, NV

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Appearing amid the fertile screamo scene of the 2000s, the Las Vegas quintet Escape the Fate prided itself, above all else, on an energetic and visceral live show. The band's formation was propelled in part by MySpace, which vocalist Ronnie Radke and bassist Max Green utilized while searching for new bandmembers after their previous group's demise. The networking site allowed them to recruit guitarist Bryan Money, who subsequently brought along Vegas transplant (and former Lovehatehero guitarist)...
