Similar to, but completely unlike

Deceptively accessible, this album has borne repeated listening in my car, on my headphones, on my stereo, in my office, and still hasn't gotten old. It's at once familiar, fresh and substantive. There's no doubt there's an immediate familiarity for anyone who has listened to Postal Service's "Give Up" album, but after the initial sheen wears off, the album actually takes on a different, quirkier tone. Alden is a guitarist by heart, and it shows up on many of his tracks, which appear to have originally been conceived as sliding guitar riffs. The vocals are a bit on the gentile side, but upon repeated listening they actually prevent the fatigue that settles in when listening to some other self-important grandstanding vocalists. The lyrics are self-aware and sometime awkward, yet deeply informed about the undercurrent of the modern life. Songs such as "Logos" and "Polaroid" touch on modern feelings of alienation and urbanization, while "I fell off my name" and "Geneva" talk about fundamental issues like personal identity and human rights. This is a group of musicians who built an album in between their real lives. Here's hoping real life doesn't keep them from continuing to make good on the promise of this excellent first effort.

Amazing

This CD is pretty amazing. They do have sounds that are similar to Death Cab and Postal Service but its very unique. Its very indie. I definately recommend this CD to anyone.

Bought the entire album.

I've bought a lot of music on iTunes before, but this is the first album I bought in its entirety. I listened through the previews for each track and couldn't find one I didn't like. Now that I've been listening to it on the go, it's even more amazing. You will NOT be disappointed with FPF. Instantly one of my favorites.
