WOW!!... (...And THEN some!)

It was "New Music Tuesday" and I always like getting free singles and the "Discovery Downloads". I always like downloading them and discovering new artists. That's just what I did. This song, "Easy Love" was part of the "Discovery Download" this week. I had only listened to 30 seconds of it and I thought it was "ok", just "ok", but since it was free I thought, 'well, what the heck', so I bought it. At first I listened to the whole thing and "still" thought it was "ok". Then I listened to it a few more times and I REALLY started to like it. Eventually it became one of my favorite techno songs. And, I don't know why it's labled "Pop" as the genre. It sounds more techno-ish to me, like "Electronic". I hope "MSTRKRFT" makes more songs; comes out with a CD at LEAST, and puts this song on it. WAY TO GO!!!

Ebb and flow

MSTRKRFT (pronounced mastercraft) is by far the most intriguing new house-techno-electrofunk band around. If you don't believe me, listen to some of their remixes/singles at myspace.com/mstrkrft. Their music just has flow.

Cool free download

MSTRKRFT (how the heck do you pronounce that?) has released probably the best free download (electronic-wise) since Dean Coleman's dub of Jay Sealee and Louie Vega's Diamond Life. Great song, reminiscent of Daft Punk's album Homework.

Hailing from Toronto, the duo makes a move from DFA 1979's abrasive rock to robotic electronic complete with vocoders and handclaps. In addition to releasing two singles ("Easy Love" and "Work on You") and an LP in July 2006 on Last Gang Records, MSTRKRFT have remixed several buzz bands such as Metric, Wolfmother, the Kills, and Bloc Party.
