Album Review
There's no denying Narada Michael Walden's drumming chops, but he's also a very talented hitmaker as well. Since the '70s, he's scored several R&B hits as a solo artist, and is a top session musician to this day. He's played with the best (Jeff Beck, Kenny G., Mariah Carey, and Aretha Franklin) and has dabbled in just about every musical form — dance, rock, fusion, soul, etc. Rhino has compiled the best of Walden's solo work, entitled Ecstasy's Dance: The Best of Narada Michael Walden, which showcases his many talents. Highlights include his two Top Ten R&B hits, "I Don't Want Nobody Else (To Dance With You)" and "I Shoulda Loved Ya," as well as the outstanding album tracks "Delightful" and "The Awakening." Other minor hits are also represented, such as "The Real Thang," "Divine Emotions," and a discofied version of the Holland/Dozier/Holland classic "Reach Out." Also included are nicely assembled and informative liner notes, as well as a message from Walden himself.

Nice collection
Included, but not mentioned is the song "High Above The Clouds," a major club anthem in the 80's. I remember finally finding a rare vinyl copy in the late 90's at a used record store. The price: $100. So glad to find it here for 99 cents. And it still sounds awesome.
Ecstasy's Dance-Pure Ecstasy to Listen To!
Narada Michale Walden is truly one of the great singer-song-writers of the late 70's to mid 1980's.One of musics most unheralded names, this greatest hits CD is simply stellar in its various styles. "Delightful," White Night," and "I Cry, I Smile," belong on today's "quiet storm" formats, and his dance tunes more than hold their own against the groups of today. I would recommend this compilation CD to 1 & all.
Great Music
This is when the music got your ears attention, then you listened to the lyrics and you weren't disapointed...Ohhh those were the days.
