Edenderry
Marshall Gilkes is great and gives good feel in his work. As a trombonist myself I feel that he is taking the instrument to new heights and it is a pleasure to listen to this album. I might also add that Marshall is one of the best trombone soloists I have heard in my time and think that he has very nice sound. Overall an A+.
Edenderry
Marshall Gilkes has transcended the technical aspects of trombone playing. You can hear the evolution of the last 100 years of Jazz trombonists in his music. His technical vocabulary isn't limited to "doodle tounging." He's not burning through chromatic lines in an effort to play as fast as possible. Marshall's solos are full of substance with melodic depth and integrity.

Beautiful-exciting trombone playing. Clean and fresh. Heard this guy live today-wow! Looking to hear him again.
