iTunes Review
Brooklyn’s Friendly Fire Recordings is an eccentric place, a world where Denmark’s quirky Oh No Ono fit in perfectly. Sounding something like a sleepless studio marathon featuring the Beatles and Of Montreal, with guest appearances by Sigur Rós when things get too cute, Eggs follows their 2006 debut album Yes with a more experimental and ambitious sound. Still working in a palette of kaleidoscope colors, and with vocals that run the gamut from Munchkin impressions to youthful choruses and atonal cooing, Eggs is not quite as giddy and frothy (nor as ‘80s-inspired) as Yes. The psychedelic and ornate “Eleanor Speaks” and the spiritual “Wave Ballet” are arresting and engrossing in a magical way. The band — now a quintet — still kick up their heels, although they also thumb their noses at pop convention; the glorious “Internet Warrior” is layered with muted bird calls and swirling guitars and pianos, while “Helplessly Young” conjures the Beach Boys run through an electroclash filter. “Pop music is like a dream,” singer Malthe Fischer once told an interviewer. Clearly, that particular wisdom informs Oh No Ono’s unique musical perspective.

OH NO Show in Union Hall 1/28/10
I just saw these guys at Union Hall in Brooklyn, NY. They killed the set in a good way. I have never seen a band so fluid in my life, where
the they have an amazing connection with each other. Most bands I have seen in the last few months, can't even make eye contact with the audience or themselves.
The in-person experience for me stretches well past the refreshing audio present lurking in this (dozen of) EGGS album. Each song is like discovering lost change in your pocket, under your bed, and in between couch pillows and at the end of the day.....it all add$ up to a nice score.
At first you might not completely understand this band direction, just I would tell you to strap on the GPS, sit back, and enjoy the ride, because its going to an enjoyable one.

A masterpiece
Is it too early to call this the best album of 2010? "Eggs" is a dreamy, trippy, psychedelic masterpiece from Denmark - at their core the songs here are very melodic and pop, enough so to get stuck in your head, but they're ornamented by all sorts of weird, crazy, baroque musical flourishes. It really is a feast for the ears. Highly, highly recommended.
Everything I like! In one band!
It's simple: this is an incredible psychedelic/tap your feet/sing-along/alternately hauntingly and joyously beautiful/mesmerizing/super interesting vocals-y/rockin'/totally unique and yet comfortingly familiar pop band. Okay, maybe not so simple. But complicated in a really, really good way. "Swim" is gorgeous and has a haunting innocence. "Icicles" reminds me of the best things about Pink Floyd and ELO. "The Wave Ballet" is a gut-gripping anthem by way of pure catchy psychedelic pop. So good!
