Truly Electric

This excellent EP was released following 2002's Electric and served as a parting between Jack Ingram and his then-label. The tunes ably display why Ingram should have become a major star long ago. His voice exudes both grit and grace, anchored by sharp guitar-playing and effective lyrics. "A Little Bit" and "She Don't Love You" are probably the standout tracks, but be sure to check out the moody "Red, White, and Blues".

There can only be one reason these were left off the main album...time and/or effort. These songs are in many ways just as strong if not stronger then some off the full electric album. Here's hoping that people catch this gem before it fades away behind the electric album. These songs hit hard emotionally and are just plain entertaining to listen to. Five stars for what is usually a handful of hits and misses. First solid EP/LP I ever listened to. If only others could follow suit.
