Customer Reviews
A splended record that somhow slipped under the radar.
He may not be a household word but he should. James Ehnes is quite possibly the finest violinist of the day. This recording, in celibration of the 150th year of Elgar, makes a strong argument for the concerto to be kept in rotation. The sound quality is good and Mr Ehnes's playing is without fault. If there is any complaint about his playing it is perhaps almost too perfect. Still on may find countless rewards apon repeated listening. The addition of the serenad's are also a treat.
