Album Review
No, they're not going to change the world of pop music anytime soon. But when a band opens its album with a whirlwind of drum loops and crunchy, rhythmically ambiguous guitar, and then skids immediately into a blast of gritty pop-punk riffage and soaring harmonies, you can't help but like them. Anyone who really loves pop music knows that originality is overrated — what matters is hooks, and Bottom Line has those in spades. In multiples of spades, really. Some people say that these guys push the boundaries of pop-punk, but to all but the most discerning ears they're going to sound pretty much like pretty much all of the top-tier melodic punks out there. After "Nothing Is Real (As If It Ever Was)," the hooks just keep getting sharper, through "She Left Off" and "Follow Me," before dropping a bit in quality on the so-so "Blind." But then comes a curiosity, a weird little retro instrumental titled "Saddle Oxford"; horns make an appearance on the very nice "False Alarm," and another weird instrumental pops up again several tracks later. The album hits its zenith on the spectacular "This Far from a Fire." Dense and spiky guitars and tight, smooth harmonies keep everything sweet and crunchy throughout the album; it's a confection, yes, but a highly satisfying one. Recommended.

Genius Pop-Punk
This album is amazing. If you were a fan of pop-punk and then turned all cool into the screamo scene. Turn back, or for at least this band. This CD from start to finish is a giant explosion. "Nothing Is Real (As If It Ever Was)" is a perfect opening track for the album. It prepares you for the adventure of what an amazing album is going to sound like. Buy this entire album, then go see them live. Bottom Line is amazing.
Great New Band!!!!!!!
This is reat new band. they really got my attention with the song Nothing Is Real(As If It Ever Was).Buy Thier Songs
confectionary pop punk of the highest order!!!
I heard about this from mark hoppus' podcast and tried to find this album EVERYWHERE, including all the trusty local neighborhood record shops...nothing! So Thank You Itunes for allowing me to buy this, a highly concentrated combo of all things i love about this genre of music - nonstop sweet harmonies, rapid-fire energy, and of course, really really catchy tunes from beginning to end. "Nothing is real" makes me wanna shout along while running to the top of a mountain and leap into the high heavens out of the pure sugar rush of it all. I also like how they throw in some curveballs like the sax solo and the atmospherics of "mystique". If you like this kind of music, then GET IT NOW!!!
