Classic Americana
Wow! It's not often I'm blown away on the first listen by a brand new album from a (relatively) new band. This album has a classic Americana sound, upbeat acoustic guitars, shuffling ryhthms, mandolin accents, and forlorn vocals. It also has excellent songwriting and an a few all-star guests. If you are a fan of down home roots music or talented singer-songwriters, this album will fit perfectly in your collection. The themes aren't new here, but the writing is original and the songs will stick in your head and have you singing along. The harmony vocal meshes so perfectly with the lead at times you don't even realize it's there. A fantastic album, well worth the investment. I'm looking forward to hearing more from Yarn.
More Soul Than You Can Shake A Fiddle At!
Music to feel good about, with a real singer/songwriter who just gets it. Blake Christiana & Co. can't be stuck into a genre, they are just great music. In an age of pre-thought, packaged, B.S., this CD stands out, and gives me hope real music hasn't been handed over to industry, but rather a true artist. If there is any justice (or good taste) left in this world, Yarn will be the next big thing. A wise choice for anyone with a soul. This new album is fantastic, as is the first.
Happily Addicted
We stopped in to a bar in Chestertown MD and saw these guys by accident. The poster on the bar door said "Addictive Urban Grass" and that is what they have become for me. I bought the first album at the show and have been listening ever since. Buy the album and see them live you will not regret it.
