Matt Monro is Truly A Singers Singer (Even In Spanish)
This album is the original unedited version of the Camino Al Amor album. The Camino Al Amor album was "digitally remastered" this album contains the original tracks which are not digitally remastered. If you bought the Camino Al Amor album, you probably do not want to download this album. They also added a bonus track entitled Americano ( I do not know who is singing it, but a very good song). According to the Producers "In listening to both the digitally remastered version of the album and this one, we are a bit torn between technology and originality, thus you too now have a choice. Listen to this album and the digitally remastered album - Matt Monro - Camino Al Amor, and pick the songs you like best. It is a win win no matter what. Enjoy!" I would tend to agree with them. I prefer this album to the Camino Al Amor. There are certain nuances that I just like on this album compared to the Camino Al Amor Album. Here is what Beatles Producer George Martin has to say about Matt Monro- Back in the late 1950's before I became The Beatle's record producer, I was producing a comedy album with Peter Sellers and needed a singer who sounded like Frank Sinatra. I chose Matt Monro. "Fred Flange" as he was known on the album, created alot of interest, and at the end of 1960 I asked Matt to record under his own name. The result was "Portrait of my love" and within two weeks of release it made the charts and stayed there for many months. This was the first big hit of many for Matt. International acclaim has come Matt's way since that first recording and he was a natural charming fellow. "A Singer's singer, a musicians singer." A joy to work with, a performer whose reading of a lyric is unsurpassed. Matt has given me as much pleasure in the studio as he has to audiences worldwide. - George Martin
Very Good Album
I am a big Matt Monro fan, so I buy whatever is out there. I bought the Camino Al Amor Album, and like it, but even though this is the same album, I wanted to hear the difference between a digital remaster, and the original. This album is much better in my opinion. Glad I bought it. However, unless you are an audiophile, don't spend the extra money if you already downloaded the other album.
