Album Review

Following in the precedent set by Enigma's remarkable success in the 1990s, Bella Sonus' Enamoured blends together the more ethereal side of computer-composed world music with a heavy dose of ambient electronica, while differentiating themselves from their obvious peer with the guitar work of Angel Suarez. As it did for Enigma and many of the successive artists to follow — Deep Forest, Sarah Brightman, Delirium — this stylistic template works well, evoking a substantial amount of tranquility and a bit of rhythm in the process. The man behind the bulk of the music here, Robert Smith (keyboards, synthesizer, programming, samples), deserves ample recognition for his accomplishments on Enamoured, but one can't help but find it a bit derived. Still, if one can look past this possible observation, the music gleams with a sense of beauty rarely found in modern music.

Amazing

Touting soundscapes in the same vein of Enigma and Vangelis, Bella Sonus understands how to bring entertaining trance/ambient music to a mainstream audience. Although they are constantly compared to Enigma, there are some distinct differences which most music lovers will appreciate. The album is sonically fulfilling, with silky smooth vocals and great use of varied instruments. Rincón de España, a personal favorite, is like candy for the ears. Mixing a sad, sorrowful Spanish guitar with pleasantly fat, low-end bass and ambient percussives into a simple, cohesive listening experience. My only gripe with the album is that although most of the songs have great hooks, it seems a bit ambitious. Enamoured covers so much ground in a stylistic sense that many of the songs seem expectant - almost impatient. Although simple gripes like these may put some people off, most of the songs from Enamoured never lose their staying power in my playlists.

I found Bella Sonus and it is among my most played. Every song provides a relaxing ambience that you never tire of.

Great song but the iTunes clip stops before a few seconds too early

Great song. Too bad that the iTunes file of this song stops prematurely. The clip stops abruptly before the end gets to finish. This is probably a mistake that was done when the iTunes file was created.
