With Endlessly, neo-soul singer Duffy is no longer a wallflower. Where the mood of Rockferry specialized in a somber hue best associated with Dusty Springfield, Endlessly turns on the electronics, steps up the beats and sends Duffy into the spotlight well-fortified and ready to dance the night away. Co-produced by Albert Hammond, Sr., father to the Strokes’ guitarist, he still adds cinematic strings, especially strong and touching on “Too Hurt to Dance,” but he also pushes club beats (“My Boy”) and plenty of glitz. The beauty here, however, is the unusual delivery from Duffy, who sings these songs with a stunning vibrato and a seductive whisper. “Lovestruck” adds a spoken intro that shows her speaking voice is a very capable rasp, while the synths and strings turn things into a soothing disco aura. The thick synth pump of “Well, Well, Well” adds a touch of silliness. “Girl” has a delightful, lightweight pop bounce. Endlessly is an abrupt, but not unexpected, stylistic shift from a young singer who is likely to make many more adventurous turns.

What happened to You? The Eulogy

This was a person who knew what type of artist she wanted to be but, somehow, got lost in it all. A person with real potential and who was true to herself. You can still hear it, even in this album, her struggle to brake free from the restraints that were forced upon her but was simply over powered. I Miss You Duffy. All i can do now is just pray that i'll see you again.

Mediocre At Best

I am a HUGE fan of Duffy and I worshipped her first album but this one falls short for me. Every song sounds bland and mediocre, certainly not as amazing as her first album. I really don't care for the instrumentation on this album and her voice sounds squeaky on a few tracks. It just does not have the same umph that rockferry did. I will continue to support her, I just hope that she comes out with something spectacular her next time around.

Well, Well, Well.....

Wow I am so disappointed by this album. When I saw the cover, I thought it would be an awesome release with a nice old fashioned vibe to it. Unfortunately it turned out to be boring and slightly annoying. I know Duffy naturally has a high- pitched voice, but she came across extra squeaky in some of the songs here. Many of the tracks also fall victim to weird composition, making them even less enjoyable. Only two songs really stood out to me- Well, well, well and Don't Forsake Me. The rest is just too forgettable. One of the biggest let- downs for me this year.
