Album Review

Often overlooked because of their role in the ill-fated hair-metal craze of the late '80s, Enuff Z'nuff actually shares more common ground with power-pop luminaries Cheap Trick and Badfinger than with the lipstick-and-leather crowd. Their self-titled major label debut boasts one of the best power-pop singles of the late '80s with "New Thing," which features Donnie Vie's raspy vocals set against a backdrop of whimsical guitar-powered melody. "For Now" captures more of the same magic that makes "New Thing" so refreshing, while "Fly High Michelle" reveals the band's fondness for psychedelic ballads. The contemplative "I Could Never Be Without You" shows a serious streak that offsets the obviously lighthearted approach of boisterous tracks like "Hot Little Summer Girl" and "Kiss the Clown." Where Enuff Z'nuff falters is their tendency to let songs get bogged down by excessive guitar ramblings. The nearly seven-minute long "In the Groove" falls victim to this unfortunate fate, sputtering and failing to ever really get off the ground. Overall, the good far exceeds the bad on this impressive debut, proving that Enuff Z'nuff deserves more respect than they'll probably ever receive.

Wtf is this?

I tunes get your sh*t together this isn't the correct album/cd.

Wrong album & songs But decient Starting Point

Well The song selection is interesting Like a Mixed Tape for Enuff Z'Nuff fans 101, The sound quality is equal to a cassette tape as well. My advice take these songs from the albums proper, all are available on itunes for the most part so Just buy the albums These guys are actually worthy of your hard earned dollars. Never in my life j=have I seen a band get so Short Shifted by the industry justr because they latched onto a style to break into the music industry I remember a Band Named the Cult that tapped into the 80's new wave scene to make thier name (She sells sanctuary) and then showed thier true Hard rocking Colors on subsequent releases but because Enuff Z'nuff Latched onto the Hair Metal brigade it seems like the entire world decided to Pi*s down the legs of thier Musical legacy which in My Humble opinion equals bands Like Cheap Trick, Aerosmith & surpasses bands like Reo Speedwagon & Styx & Foriegner & Journey, spend your money on Enuff Z'nuff thier worth it big time

bogus

this is not the original album titled EnuffZ'nuff with the green peace sign,it is also not the album regarded in the "album review" right on the page- look at the song list and song review-"In the groove"is not even on here although it is reviewed as if it is!- this is some kind of a compilation of some songs from that album and some others...misleading!

If there is such a thing as false advertising in rock & roll, then Enuff Z'nuff is one of its textbook examples. Packaged in garish peace-glam attire by their record company, the group was wrongly lumped in with the disposable pop-metal bands of the late '80s (Poison, Warrant, etc.) rather than appreciated for the truly gifted power pop act that they were. By the time they...
