an absolutely essential cd no matter what kind of music you usually listen to
Passionate and beautiful. Not two bad words to describe this cd. Sexy could probably apply also and I would add uplifting if it were not tinged with self-help spirituality....let´s leave at stimulating, then.
Obviously this was dancing music: it´s easy to physically feel its impulse. And Chatham Baroque´s fluid, delicious and clearly joyful interpretation of these baroque dancing standards, add the exquisite to the pleasurable. The ensamble´s rhythmic and harmonic sensibility is wonderful.
A few christmas ago, I bought 15 copies of this cd as christmas presents. I still get thanked every once in a while...
Españoleta merits an immediate download.
