An Evening with a Master
Purcell was the last composer in a period that saw a great flourishing of English music. If you are new to Purcell's works then this is perfect for you because every genre of music he wrote is represented, from church to theatre. If you are a musician already in love with Purcell this recording will serve you too, because the musicianship is excellent throughout. If you like hearing music with proper performance practice, and I do -- not everyone does -- then this is the recording for you
