Album Review

This 2011 reissue of 2007's Essential collection features 14 tracks from the popular Scottish folk-rock outfit, including the hits "Alba," "The Greatest Flame," "The Cutter," and "Satellite Flood." Specializing in a rich, radio-ready blend of modern, Celtic folk, and stadium-ready alternative rock in the vein of Big Country and Spirit of the West, Runrig recorded the bulk of their most notable material during the '80s and '90s, most of which is available for sample here, resulting in a good primer for those looking to dive into the band's sizeable catalog.

Runrig--Glad I Found You

Happened upon this group as I was online going through some music videos on a popular site.
Every River was playing on one of the videos and I was hooked! It was an amateur video, but it was
excellent and the music they had chosen was AMAZING. I did some research, found the band, Runrig,
and now I am a LOYAL FAN. Their music is melodic, folksy yet primarily rock..no not the hard rock.
Love ballads and some in Gaelic. Even though I can not understand the words on the Gaelic songs, I DO
NOT care, they are great instrumentals.
Try this group. If you ended up reading this, you won't be disappointed!
And AYE, what lovely voices!
