Customer Reviews

It's a true honor...

to be among such talented remixers. The mixes offer a very diverse listening experience, from dark and moody (Sensory Gate Remix) to dubby drum & bass (Nook & Kranny's "Lost" Remix) to club/dance (ahem...my remix). Special thanks to Justin Elswick and Jody Quine for trusting me with their vision. Respect to Israel (Psychosomatic), James and Shelley Harland (Nook & Kranny), Dark Territory, and Sensory Gate.

Fantabulous

Grand slam home run!!! The original song is a beautiful... All of these remixes are great... The clips don't do any of these justice...

Eurydice for the Masses

Eurydice was the first track of Sleepthief's that I heard, nearly two years ago. And it sets the benchmark standard for the album - a very lush, deep and layered piece of music. (Check out Sleepthief's freshman effort, "The Dawnseeker" for more of the same...) I waited a long time for the release of the first album, and these remixes of Eurydice are a nice bonus. In this crop of remixes, there is a little bit of everything for everybody, from thumpy dance mixes like Nick Wax's "Orpheus Descending" mix to faithful retellings like the "Psychosomatic Remix". Even the haunting "Underworld A Capella" mix deserves mention. Sleepthief's debut album has given us a new way of looking and thinking about electronica, and appropriately, these remixes give Eurydice the same treatment. All in all, it's a very complimentary group of mixes. Just don't deprive yourself by skipping the album that inspired them.
