Where to start....

...the maturity of this album is exactly what this group needs to launch them into the next phase of their careers. Both artistically and aesthetically driven it provides both an initial high for those who enjoy music in the background of their lifestyles and a deep listening experience for those who enjoy listening to, dissecting and analyzing music. Lyrics are on point, guitars are singin', the synth is fillin' and the drums are kickin'; what more could one ask for? Heart. It's what this album really comes down to and what the band is driven by. These guys aren't in this for them. I had the opportunity to spend some time with Foolish Things while they were playing worship at a camp in McCall Idaho. In conversing with lead guitarist and vocalist Isaac Jorgensen about their upcoming release he expressed the bands willingness and desire to be a part of God's big picture. "What if next year, after the release of our album, God decides to start a movement in this country away from media and music and we only sell 1000 albums?" Jorgensen speculated. "We will be out of a job. We will all have to go back to the jobs we had before we were professional musicians. And even though we love what we do, we have to be ok with that." The heart that drives Foolish Things is evident in they're new album as well as thier lives and devotion to the "bigger picture". Here's to the Smoke Jumper at My Father's Place

This is art

In an age where most mainstream Christian music is void of substance and art, these guys pull off both. Bucking the "label-train" these guys follow God's lead for their message, their music and their lives--bringing us a artistic and spiritual awakening in music that has not been filtered by corporate labels. Their lyrics don't flatter, leaving me sometimes in conviction, while the music keeps me coming back for more to be revealed the bigger picture of the Father's immense love. Their lives prove too that this art isn't created to make money, or gain earthly significance, but to glorify God and move us towards him. Even Now is amazing.

Phenomenal

I only gave this four stars because I think that these guys are going to be going very far in their career. I pray that at least. These guys have put together a solid record which is delightful the rocker within, and the spirit-led all while in a great pop/indie/alternative package. Lyrics that will leave you thinking paired with a solid set of melody lines are what I believe the strongest parts of this album are. The drumming is locked in pretty good, the background vocals are present and not overshadowed by the melody. The guitars/bass/ and keyboards are intertwined solidly. I am deeply excited that this album is finally here. I've wanted it for like 5 months now.
