Horrible!!!
by LeftBehindFan"Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven" is, in my opinion, Kenny's worst song yet. I'm from Luttrell,Tennessee. I went to the same school as Kenny and the people who have been following him for years here in East Tennessee are over the tropical island junk. We want our "Fall in Love" and "The Tin Man" Kenny back! He used to be my favorite artist, but I really do not even care for his music anymore. Go back to REAL COUNTRY, Kenny.
Theologically Troubling
by Revelation 21:4I like Kenny Chesney, I like country, but this song does not sit well with me as a Christian. We do not get to heaven by throwing an extra twenty in the plate, and heaven cannot be reduced to simple platitudes, i.e. putting on our wings and fly around. If anyone's reason for wanting to go to heaven is because it is better than the other place, they are completely missing the point. A proper understanding of what heaven is like, and current condition of our world insists that we are granted the grace to go to heaven by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This song makes light of that. If we really believe in heaven, we long for the day when we will be called up to spend eternity in complete joy with our loving savior.
