Some of the worst NMH is still some of the best
The songs on this album don't measure up to the other Neutral Milk Hotel albums that have been released. But, this is still pretty dang good. "Everything is" and "Snow Song" are beautiful, while "Aunt Eggma Blowtorch" is the perfect song to freak out your new roommate, and "Tuesday Moon" is a song anyone can enjoy. Worth a look if you like the band.
Magnificent
I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with the other two reviewers. In my opinion, Mangum's greatest genius shines through in these tracks. It's Neutral Milk Hotel, but they lose that marching band feel and gain a psychedelic element here that really works. Everything Is and Tuesday moon are very strong arguments to anyone who doesn't think wonderful music is still being put out today.
