Some Velvet Morning
U gotta get this track......it has KATE MOSS on it
Primal Scream at their nastiest
More electroclashed and neon glazed than the feral Xtrmntr, this LP is a out of control mess. But amongst the post-pop wreckage is brilliance and attitude that drives the "more Stooges than the Stooges" like rubble of City and Skull X (both superb) as well as the roaring, art-damaged electro of Miss Lucifer, Detroit, Rise, and The Lord is My Shotgun (with Robert Plant on harmonica and Bobby Galespie doing his best Mick Jagger snarl). The quality of the more subdued tracks like the Kraftwerk tribute Autobahn 66 (WONDERFUL) and the nifty electro-pop cover of Some Velvet Morning (featuring Kate Moss' droid like vocals...perfect for this track) are only enhanced in such an assault. Excellent stuff indeed.
