iTunes Review
A couple of decades ago, youth ministry made common cause with punk rock. Stellar Kart is among the myriads of groups since then to mix cheeky vocals and careening rhythms with God-centered, teen-friendly lyrics. Expect the Impossible is straight forward Christian punk, full of heartfelt testimony delivered with nervous gusto. Producer Ian Eskelin (a veteran of the similar-sounding All Star United) is on hand to help to tighten up the foursome’s familiar sound. The bratty-yet-wholesome image that Stellar Kart established on previous albums is present in “Innocent,” “I Give Up,” and “Sunshine.” Singer Adam Agee preaches the Word (“Jesus Loves You”) and pines for true love (“The Right One”) with the same jittery edge. “Pray,” the album’s ballad showpiece, erupts into a string-laden chorus in the manner of a mid-‘90s Goo-Goo Dolls hit. Some fresh arrangement twists — the trumpeting synthesizer on “Eyes,” the marching tempo on “Letters” — remove the album from the mosh pit at times. Fundamentally, though, Stellar Kart is mostly refining rather than innovating on Expect the Impossible. For those who like a concentrated blast of faith-based energy, this may be more than enough.

AAAAAAHHHHHH!!! STELLAR KART!!!
Stellar Kart's highly anticipated (highly anticipated by me!) third album Expect the Impossible is finally here with synthy sounds, fresh piano and strings, higher notes, a little scream here and there, catchy lyrics, and the boys dressed up like surfers with cool hair do's thanks to the drummer's wife. To tell you the truth, you may be surprised to hear that I, a Stellar Kart superfan, was actually a little afraid that Expect the Impossible woud disappoint after hearing a few thirty-second clips; but after I bought the whole thing and listened to every song front to back, I wasn't disappointed at all! In fact, I was even more impressed. So here are my thoughts for every song: 1. "Innocent"- A fun opener with piano rhythms and a message about the world of sin around us. 2. "Automatic"- The perfect jump-at-the-concert song with the catchiest lyrics. 3. "Jesus Loves You"- "Me and Jesus" Part 2?? "Jesus Loves You" has a much higher level of maturity lyrically and musically than "Me and Jesus." This is a powerful song whether or not it's "Me and Jesus" Part 2. 4. "The Right One"- A cute little love song to a future love. 5. "Sunshine"- This song has a more girly pop feel, yet speaks of hope in dark times. 6. "Pray"- Powerul--just like prayer. 7. "Shine Like the Stars"- A hard rocker mixed in with a little techno. 8. "Eyes"- A song about faith in the unseen, with a disco feel 9. "I Give Up"- Amazing, driving guitars; remember We Can't Stand Sitting Down? 10. "Letters"- A hearfelt ballad about our troops overseas; the perfect closer. I just miss the old worship songs Stellar Kart used to slip into their albums. Anyway, don't judge Expect the Impossible by it's cover. Stellar Kart only keeps maturing, especially lyrically. I'd have to say, this is their best album so far.
Stellar Kart rules!!
God is good! SK is keeping it real in their new album. The lyrics are great and the music is hot. Overall, this album has a positive message. I hope other christian bands are taking notes from these guys. Be blessed. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 1 John 4:9
They have done it again
The first album SK put out was average, not bad, but nothing really set it apart from other groups like them. The second album, had the catchiness and greater musical strength that made it better thant the first, but much of the lyrics were rather repetatvie and most of the songs had the same theme to them. Expect the Impossible really shows how the group has grown in these past few years. The lyrics are excellent and evey song deals with diffrence issues facing ones faith today. An interesting addition to the music is a synth that is present in many songs. if you only want to download one get "Innocent" if only for the satire it throws at American culture today.
