Do we really need another Nickelback?

This run-of-the-mill rock has got to stop. Rather, we need to stop buying it. I heard all of the vocal lines and chord progressions in "Extreme Behavior" last year on Nickelbacks album and six years ago in everything else. Hinder fails to create anything new, and you people still buy it by the truckload. Listening Hinder's uninspired lyrics and guitar-heavy mix makes me go numb the same way that pounding my head with a rubber mallet would. Cliche ridden and unclever riffs plauge this record to death and reach their peak on "Lips of an Angel," which falls flat on it's perfect little face in an attempt to be inspirational. Don't waste your money on songs that are only slightly different from stuff you already heard just because it's comfortable. Spend it on a working band that makes NEW music. And, then, listen to it more than once. You will soon grow to like new things. I promise...

A MUST HAVE!!!

I first heard Hinder through iTunes' free download of "Get Stoned". I really liked it so I checked out the rest of the tracks on the album. I'm into a lot of different music, mostly rock though, and I can say without any doubt that this album is probably the TOP rock record of the year! There isn't one "skip-worthy" or "filler" track on here. Every song is really good and you can easily listen to it all the way through without reaching for the next button on your 'Pod. Trust me, GET IT!!!

Worst. Band. Ever.

Out here in LA, KROQ insists on shoving this song down our throats. What is this band other than Bryan Adams with an angrier voice? Or Creed without the pretense of religion? What kills me is that the singer from this band called out Ok Go as a bunch of pussies. Hmmm, when your big single features words like "It's really good to hear your voice calling my name, it sounds so sweet" isn't that somewhat incongruent with your supposed hard-core attitude? It makes me wonder if this band isn't some kind of joke, like five dudes leaned up against their '82 Camaro, brushed their mullets and thought "What if we combined Creed, Third Eye Blind and some other marginally good 90s bands, only this time put redneck-inspired lyrics on top?" And come on, is there a worse album title than "Extreme Behavior?" Why not go whole-hog and spell it "Xtr3me Beh4viour?" "Lips of an Angel" (oooh, slick double-entendre there, boys) is the worst song of the year on the worst album of the year by the worst band of the year. I hope Hinder goes away.

Biography

Formed: 2001 in Oklahoma City, OK

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Hinder began crafting cocky, raucous post-grunge in the early 2000s, when Oklahoma City residents Joe Garvey and drummer Cody Hanson found Austin Winkler singing cover songs at a college party. The three formed the nucleus of Hinder, and the group started landing gigs opening locally for such bands as Theory of a Deadman. Lineup changes brought guitarist Mark King and bassist Mike Rodden into the fold, and the quintet signed with Universal after issuing a self-released EP. Their 2005 full-length...
