Album Review
Extreme's first album shows the band struggling to shed their influences, particularly Van Halen, and develop a style of their own; consequently, it's wildly uneven, but guitarist Nuno Bettencourt is always worth hearing.

EXTREME
Nuno Bettencourt is a great guitarist. Sure there's some VH style in there, but so what? Is still woth listening to. Actually Gary Cherone went on to sing on a VH album after Sammy Hagar left. For me, if there is one song on here that is a "must have", it's Play With Me. The guitar work is awesome, and the lyrics are very clever. If you've got $0.99 to spare, just buy it.
Extreme is ready to play with the big dogs!
This album is great not only the hit Play With Me that is now featured on Guitar Hero Encore: Rock The 80's but other songs such as Flesh 'n Blood and definantely Big Boys Don't Cry. This album is amazing and i suggest buying it if not at least buy the three mentioned in this review.
A Great Debut Album.
I just bought this album today for $8.00. This is a great collection of Extreme tunes. My favorite song has got to be "Play With Me." The first time I heard it was in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. Nuno Bettencourt is one of the best on guitar. Just listen to the beginning of "Mutha (Don't Wanna Go To School Today)." If you had to buy an Extreme album, this is probably the one. Also, "Watching, Waiting" is also a great deep cut. A great 80's metal band, I personally think these guys are underrated.
