Disappointing
by Pastrami on ryeJust listening to the little previews of each cut, it's plain to see that most of these aren't the real thing. Same artists, but remakes. Maybe higher tech recording, but missing the original soul that made them so good. If you grew up during the '50s, unless you've got a tin ear, you'd hear the difference right away! I came looking for Stagger Lee by Lloyd Price and lucky for me, that one just sounds like a better quality recording of the original (at least during the preview, it did).
not the music I remember
by jdonaldsIt's like you have these tunes burned into your brain and even a half note off, too slow, too fast, different vocalizations even by the original artists and everything seems wrong. It simply has to be the actual radio played original or nothing. I'm so disappointed that it is hard to find the real oldies but goodies. I don't care if they are mono instead of stero. I don't want new versions.
Will somebody please put the real oldies on iTunes!!!!!
Fabulous 50's
by Boppin to the 50'sWas all set for some good music and was sorely disappointed. I've learned a lesson.
