So gooooood!!
This album is great all the way though...almost like a soundtrack. It's so freaking diverse. Just when you think you know what they are doing, they switch it up. Favorite songs: Orchid, Sound Asleep, Over The Radio, The Weather (really speaks to me these days). Love it!!!!
Facing You
I LOVE THIS BAND! First and foremost their live shows ROCK! They really know how to put on a great show that engages the entire audience.
Now to the real reason for this review, the latest Marionette master piece: Facing You. From start to finish I was completely enthrolled. It's almost hard to pick my favorite songs because I love how they all flow together. It's the perfect sound track for anyone at any point in their life. I really feel like anyone from my mom to my roommate could relate to Facing You.
The vocals are amazing. As a chick I can really appreciate being able to sing along. Also as a chick I love Kevin Cornell's voice : ) For those who have never been to a show, this man is playing drums while singing...the entire show!!! The awesome talent of every person is this band what really makes Marionette special.
Facing You is beautiful from start to finish (don't miss the bonus track!). If you're looking for music that is original, innovative, smart, from the heart, mellow, rocking out, and real, then look no further. Support local muscians! Support art!
Facing You
Ethereal and real, this music is beautiful, moving and rocks!!! The CD from start to finish and back again tells a powerful, poetic human story that anyone who cannot be content with the world as it is can relate to. At the same time, it seems to make sense of it all, if only with amazing song forms and instrumentation. The vibe of the music takes you somewhere good. I think those who love Arcade Fire, Midlake, Yo La Tengo or The Flaming Lips will love this band too.
