The Trans Megetti play hard, noisy, chaotic rock music that wastes no time in working itself up to a complete frenzy. Mark Tesi, a formidable lead singer and guitarist, wails with an insistent urgency that's as melodic as it is forceful, and he is backed by a tight instrumental combo who rarely let up. Most of the ten tracks on Fading Left to Completely On are fast-paced and jerky dirty rock numbers, and a slightly complicated edge keeps the music compelling. Perhaps even more interesting is the standout bass playing of Mark Candidi, whose rigorous style provides a complicated and note-heavy low end on the record. These may not be the most immediately catchy and memorable tracks, but, as the record plays, it's hard to dislike what the Trans Megetti are aiming for. Some of the more minimal groove-oriented numbers wear a bit long, but on the whole the band makes up for it with inspired direction and a pretty original sound. A faster, harder, and less convoluted relative of the overused emo sound, the music on Fading Left to Completely On occasionally drags for a bit, but always returns with an invigorated bounce and a crafted rawness. The band has put out a handful of records before this, and none of those have been too disappointing, leaving this LP to prove that there may be a good reason to pay some attention. ~ Peter J.
