Album Review
After releasing one of the best-reviewed albums of 2009, Animal Collective followed ten months later with one of the best EPs of the year, Fall Be Kind. An easily digestible slice of the band at their best, the five-tracker amplifies the circular harmonies of Merriweather Post Pavilion, but substitutes a slightly more laid-back feel compared to the dense, frenzied sound of Merriweather. The opener "Graze" begins with atmospherics and tremulous lyrics, but soon explodes with the same fervor and energy of past AC classics. The second track, "What Would I Want? Sky," deserves its place with Animal Collective's best, led by a Grateful Dead sample and including several distinct parts that form close to seven minutes of overlapping harmonies, wheezing and clanking found sounds, and ambient drone.

AC drops another set of diamonds. Sky? is amazing, as are Bleed and On a Highway...so glad these songs are finally recorded, after having been played within live sets for some time now. AC bookends 2009 with brilliant material that will influence music for years to come. Can't wait for their next album, and hope they record until they are old foags...love it.

I love this EP and this band..can they do wrong? What Would I Want? Sky is probably one of the best most catchy songs ive heard since Merriweather came out...Avey Tare and Panda Bear should be in the ranks with Thom Yorke or any other genious of today! Buy everything they've recorded..especially Merriweather post Pavillion and This great great EP!
