A Great Release
Zach Gill has put together two songs that are both dominated by the piano and made a great single. "Family" has lots of energy and is a faster moving but still has a mellow beat while "Water Song" is slower and has a sader feeling to it. I believe Zach Gill put these together to show that he is capable of doing many types of song writing. It is a good release and will be injoyed by listeners that just like to listen to good simple music.
I love Jack, and I now love Zach
This is awesome song to add to the Jack Johnson collection, its addictive and such an easy song to listen to. I personally play the piano so I love to hear Zach play that thing, and you couldn't ask for a better backup singer than Jack. If you like this you might want to check into Zach's band ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra). Which I believe the Water Song can actually be found on the Roses and Clovers album. Download and enjoy.
Nice On The Ears
I've just started listening to Zach Gill lately...I'm going to a Jack Johnson concert this August and Zach Gill will be performing, so I figured I mind as well check out his work. And I have to say Zach is quite good...if not great...and has enough talent to shine all by himself, even though having Jack on song or two doesn't hurt either.Overall I love these two singles...Family reminds me of that laid back summer BBQ you share with your family and friends. While Water Song is more mellow and heart wrenching.
