iTunes Review

Creed represent a form of hard rock that deliberately resists change. Once the formula is perfected, the goal is to replicate it as often as possible until its positive effects can no longer be felt. It’s no surprise that ego would tear this band apart. Eight years have given the band the chance to catch their breath and come up with a consistently strong album that still manages to sound as if they’d never called it quits in the first place. The band excels at music that believes in itself beyond all else. It takes a completely self-possessed hard-rock singer like Scott Stapp to lead the attack convincingly. “Overcome” is a tough, challenging, likable opener. “Rain” sports the band’s nod towards Seattle grunge. “Away In Silence” delivers the dynamics that made the band arena favorites, from an acoustic lullaby to a crunchy anthem. “Fear” throws in a funky riff. The title track again goes to the acoustic guitar for a bluesy cruise. “Time” ripples in the sad waters. Creed never looks to reinvent the wheel as long as their wheel is working fine.

Amazing Album! Continues Their Legacy!!

This album is not just for the avid Creed fan. It is for anyone who likes strong rock music. Every song hits you right in the chest. It is just like the older Creed albums: strong lyrics, strong guitar, strong everything; except it is much more technical. The guitar work is much more advanced and Scott's vocals are slightly different. They are minor changes but make for a much more stronger album. Buy this album, you won't regret it. THANK YOU CREED FOR COMING BACK! The music world has missed you! Excellent effort by the guys of Creed. Can't wait tell album #5!!!

a heavier, better sounding Creed

This really is a great comeback for Creed. It seems Scott Stapp has toned down his ego and at the same time uped the intensity. After seeing their show back in September my expectations couldn't have been higher and, for the most part, they have been met. IMO this is their best album yet. The band has mixed together what they've done with old Creed and Alter Bridge to make one incredible album. I know most people will still hate on Creed but i'll always have a soft spot for them because they got me into rock music. Overall its a great album with really only a couple so so songs. The rest of it is nothing short of fantastic. I Highly recommend for any rock fan.

Overcome - 10/10 a great single and probably their heaviest song yet and I couldn't have been more impressed

Bread of Shame - 8/10 a good heavy song that keeps the album flowing

A Thousand Faces - 10/10 my favorite song off the album. a typical Creed song and it just hits perfectly

Suddenly - 8/10 another really good track with a solid chorus

Rain - 8.5/10 Creeds singles are usually some of the better tracks. this one is no different

Away In Silence - 9.5/10 a great ballad that, for me, was hit right on the dot

Fear 7.5/10 another heavier song off the album but just wasn't working for me as much as it probably should have

On My Sleeve - 9/10 fantastic song. Scott Stapps intensity in the chorus is top notch

Full Circle - 9/10 a song about the band coming "full circle" and really well done

Time - 7/10 average at best for me

Good Fight 7.5/10 its growing on me the more i listen to it but for now just average

The Song You Sing 8.5/10 a solid album closer. the more i listen, the more i like it

Fantastic

This is a great album from Creed. Overcome still is my favorite song from them, if not one of my favorite songs of all time. On my sleeve is another one of my favorites on this album. It shows such emotion and depth. Overall, I am excited to listen to this album again and again

Biography

Formed: 1995 in Tallahassee, FL

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s

During the late '90s, Creed emerged from a veritable sea of post-grunge contenders to become one of the decade's biggest-selling rock bands. At a time when many other Seattle disciples were lapsing into inactivity or experimenting with less commercial sounds, Creed carried the torch of straightforward, grungy hard rock without apology — and they were amply rewarded, selling millions upon millions of albums in just a few years' time. That success didn't translate into critical acclaim, however....
