This great revivalist band's earlier Rounder albums boiled down to a lone CD for a new generation of hungry old-timey fans. The band's free, adventurous spirit reflects its early 70s heyday but sounds as timeless as the tunes they play. Lively performances and unique dual fiddle arrangements make even the most familiar selections — "Fire On the Mountain" and "Way Down the Old Plank Road" among them — sound fresh. An essential re-issue and necessary addition to all old-timey music collections.

Great Bluegrass Album

This is an album which I enjoy quite a bit, and highly recommend for anyone who likes Bluegrass music or similar genres. "Feed Your Babies Onions (So You Can Find 'Em in the Dark) is an excellent compilation of many great tunes, including one of my favorites, "Fire on the Mountain." As a young boy, I was exposed to this album by my father every so often on car trips or just listening to the stereo. Often it was followed by Norman Blake or another bluegrass artist. I rediscovered this album on the shelf in the basement about a year ago, and it made a great addition to my music library. It brings back fond memories, and I always like listening to it again.

what the heck is this!? i started to twitch after hearing these songs for a little bit. for everybody out there, dont buy this crud unless your a flippin hillbilly.
