Feel gHood Muzik is Tiger JK's 8th Wonder!

I simply cannot put this album down. The beats, lyrics and collaborations on this LP are amazingly done. After an almost 2 year hiatus since Drunken Tiger's (Tiger JK) previous release (Vol.7 - Sky Is The Limit), JK gives back to the fans in a big way -- a double disc album appropriately titled "Feel gHood Muzik - The 8th Wonder." There are two discs on this release, the "Feel Good Side," a disc filled with upbeat radio-friendly bangers and the "Feel Hood Side," a disc that contains tracks that caters to Tiger JK's longtime fans of real hip-hop.

All together, there are 27 total tracks, with 4 of the 27 tracks having English/Korean versions (ie. 'Jet Pack' & 'Monster') as well as Clean/Dirty variations (ie. 'Freaky Deaky Superstar').

Being the hip-hop legend he is, Tiger JK returns with some truly impressive collaborations from outside Korea in addition to longtime Korean hip-hop Movement collaborators (Dynamic Duo, Bizzy, Dok2, T, YDG, Palo Alto, etc.). This time, we have the return of longtime DT collaborator Rosco Umali, west coast emcee Styliztik Jones, Rakka from Dilated Peoples, Japanese hip-hop pioneer ZEEBRA, and hip-hop legend Rakim (of Eric B & Rakim) lend their lyrical abilities on this album.

The biggest surprise here is that well known Korean hip-hop producers The Quiett and Loptomist only handle some of the production and while a majority of the instrumentals are provided by newcomer TechBeatz. Not coincidentially, I found many of TechBeatz' tracks to be the best on this album.

If you are a fan of hip-hop, you'll find many solid tracks here to like. There is variety in language, so you don't need to understand Korean to appreciate the music. Several tracks are completely in English, in addition to Tiger JK mixing up his flow with some English phrases to go along with his ryhmes.

Biography

Formed: 1999 in South Korea

Genre: Hip Hop/Rap

Years Active: '90s, '00s

A highly successful (if somewhat controversial) South Korean rap group, Drunken Tiger (main members: Tiger JK and DJ Shine) scored a record deal as a duo (Tiger JK had one album as a solo artist already under his belt) with Doremi Records in 1998. Their debut, Return of the Tiger, in 1999, was a hit, and the group was able to make some real connections to the Korean hip-hop scene. As part of the larger collective The Movement, Drunken Tiger was able to help promote Korean hip-hop on a nationwide...
