Album Review
While the first single from Feeling Strangely Fine doesn't necessarily show it very well, there is a lot of Ben Folds Five in Semisonic. Both employ a variety of different instruments, thus creating a sound that is sometimes very, very comparable. This is never more evident than on the fourth track, "Never You Mind." It doesn't help that Semisonic lead singer Dan Wilson adds his piano to many of the album's tracks, and that Semisonic and Ben Folds Five seem to share a dominant motif, sensuality. Track after track shows the considerable songwriting talents of Wilson, Jacob Slichter, and John Munson. ~ David M. Childers, Rovi

Start your love of Semisonic here
I was already a casual Semisonic fan when this album came out. "FNT" had convinced me to buy their previous release "Great Divide," shortly before "Feeling Strangely Fine" came out. Don't let the vicious radio overexposure of "Closing Time" turn you off, this album is choice. The lyrics are clever and meaninful, and the sound ranges from toe-tapping, falsetto-along fun to lie-back-on-the-couch-and-tip-up-your-cocktail. Check out "Singing in My Sleep" and "Never You Mind" for the former and any of the last three tracks for the latter.
an amazing song to end anything
Closing Time is so nastalgic and reminds me of some pretty good times, and brings back some good memories. Good Riddance is a good song and this one is too. It reminds you that every new beggining comes from some other beggings end, to me a powerful message. Closing Time is a perfect graduation song. But mostly a good song to end anything.
great!
Closing time, sining in my sleep, secret smile, and california are my favorites! Really, really, really good songs on here! Semisonic, you' ve done it again! Don't all of you reading think?! I like ''closing time'' the most. Semisonic is on fire! Ow! Ow! Ow!
