Customer Reviews
the experiment lingers on.
I saw both of the shows that Thom Yorked just played in LA, during which he played both of these songs. I think they are both solid compositions, but they worked much better live with a full band (including Flea on bass). On stage they felt thunderous as he closed the show with them. Here they feel a little thinner, almost sketches of the live versions, but they still have enough going on to make them worthwhile in this presentation. Yorke (and Radiohead) are always searching for something new, and I think this material and the band's latest ("In Rainbows") shows them trying to find the bridge between their more experimental work ("Kid A", "Amnesiac") and their more grounded rock albums ("The Bends", "Ok Computer"). I for one am up to see where the journey leads.
Good but not Amazing
I hate having to say that because I love everything radiohead/thom yorke/jonny greenwood but I find these songs to be a bit boring no they are not horrible because if they were i would give them much lower songs. I do enjoy these songs but I was really looking foward to a studio version of the original feeling pulled apart by horses however this is good song but once again its completely electronic and if thats your thing then you should get this by all means.
Music
The problem some people will always have with ThomYorke/Radiohead is that they simply refuse to conform to expectations. Many music listeners are simply lazy and ignorant and want formulas. Well, there are plenty of rock groups that do formulas if that's what you want. Thom Yorke, Johnny Greeenwood, etc. are busy trying new things. These two songs aren't my favorites, but they are still very good. They resemble Yorke's material on Eraser more than In Rainbows (which is arguably the best album of the decade along with Kid A).
