Customer Reviews

Title is not wrong

Itunes did not change the name of this, it really is a compilation, some stuff is from Riot on the grill but others are not. Ellegarden is a great pop-punk band.

PUNK ROCK ON!

If you know me or if you had happen to see the playlist on my Ipod you would know that I am a dei hard fan of mainstream and punk rock. The guitarist and drummer are graet and the lead singer isn't bad.Altogether they sound like a hard core punk band. Great album!!

Very random collection, but solid

The Figureheads Compilation is quite an interesting release leading up to the US release of Ellegarden's newest album Eleven Firecrackers. It includes four of the best songs from their previous album "Riot on the Grill," as well as the opening track from their "Pepperoni Quattro" album - all very solid recent songs from the band. In addition, the compilation features perhaps the two best recent b-sides from the band: "Stereoman" and concert favorite "The Autumn Song," neither of which have been included on any Ellegarden albums to date, making these two songs real gems. Finally, and perhaps most surprisingly, the band has included what seem to be brand new recordings of three old songs from their early career. Listening to the new version of "Windy Day" (a.k.a. "Kaze no Hi") illustrates how much the band's production and sound have matured since their beginning; Takeshi's singing is much stronger than in the original and everything sounds crisp - an excellent breathing of life into these great old songs. This is a great sampling of Ellegarden for new fans looking to get a taste of the band. And Ellegarden fans who already have "Riot" and "Pepperoni" can take this opportunity to pick up some great b-sides and new recordings of old favorites. Overall, it's an admittedly strange collection, but one not to be overlooked.

Japanese pop/punk quartet Ellegarden have become one of the biggest rock bands in their homeland, selling out 30,000 seat venues as a headliner and appearing at most of the nation's major rock festivals before bringing their explosive sound to American audiences.
