Can't get it out of my head!

A beautiful, beautifully done record. I connected with it immediately, and haven't stopped listening to it every since. Be prepared to go into a trance, I'm serious. Now that autumn is fast approaching I will look forward to listening to it while looking at all of the beautiful colors of my favorite season.    I think my favorite song is 'Ah, Ah, Ah'. Some of the key lines in it to me are, "Try like you're dyin', all your suffering is wasted now", and "near and far, fragments of time" "sun revealing the unseen". Rey's voice is so resonant in that last line you can actually hear the sun. Another song I love is 'I know you'll find a way'. So melancholy and yet so uplifting at the same time. The guitar playing is huge and wraps around the vocals perfectly. Rey's voice is soft and effortless as he assures us that we will indeed find a way.  'Cold eyes down' is classic James Garza featuring the E-bow on the guitar, great interaction between guitar and vocals. The chord progressions are brilliant and moving. The line "I want to lacerate her" is a bold statement of honesty, and while I can personally relate to it, you may not want to get too excited about it if you're driving around with your girlfriend riding in the car with you. Rey eventually brings it all together with "try life and you'll find, try life and you'll rise!" which just builds and builds, and you can really feel it.     I also want to mention the great work of the excellent rhythm section. They are flawlessly smooth and always perfectly in the pocket. This is a truly amazing and heartfelt record, and I just love it.

Melodies are memories

I have listened to the whole cd now. it's so good. it's tear jerking, like the way one feels when they look at old photographs. it's as if every melody you sing, every musical change, takes me back to when we were little kids. in a strange way your melodies and music are memories for me me, paintings of the past, thumb prints, but more importantly- a reminder of how connected we are. I love you Rey, congrats to you and your band. your album is top notch beautiful. I wouldn't expect anything else from you. with love, your little sis, Gina Villalobos
