Customer Reviews

Best musical piece in the history of all music.

Nine hundred trillion stars times infinity cubed. This is without a doubt the finest thing ever recorded in the entire history of music. Without it I would be nothing. And from this album I humbly accept my worthy nothingness. This music is like a belch from god and a fart from satan all harmoniously yin yanged into a perfect stretch of blissfull music. If you ride a skateboard, and listen to this album your skill leve will increase ten fold. The louder you listen to this music the more the gods will love you and shower you with mana and karma.

Brutally honest, straightforward stuff you need to get through.

Anymore, teenagers who are having a terrible day look to music for relief. Don't listen to the overly dry, trite, pop-punk/pop-rock that MTV insists on feeding you like an evil lunchlady would feed you the oldest piece of pizza. It's not fair to you. Minor Threat was honestly just an impulsive buy when I was buying Bad Religion's "Generator" album. It wasn't this same exact album, it was the demo (about 80% of the songs there appear on here). Later I did purchase the remainder of the songs from this album. With lyrics like "Do you f*ckin' get it/In my eyes/in my eyes" (In My Eyes) and "What happened to you/you're not the same/it's all in your head/" (Filler) you can relate to any situation you're having trouble with. Ian MacKaye's mix of semi-falsetto vocals and raw yells depicts the message even better, it makes you want to get up and do something, like punk rock is supposed to make you do. Plus, being the creators of the Straight Edge movement, you can be sure that these guys know what they're talking about without being "up on drugs", drunk, etc. Go listen to Minor Threat. They will make your day. Don't cheat yourself out on bad music anymore.

Screw the kids

This album needs more then just 5 stars. These two 7" defined not only a genre of music or a new generation of kids, but also a set of values and ideals that have been praticed by some kids for over 20 years now. The Chariot, Circle Takes the Square, NOFX, Pennywise, Avenged Sevenfold, Throwdown, and most of today's Hardcore, emo, and screamo bands owe a lot to Ian McKaye and his band of misfits known as Minor Threat Best tracks: 4,5,7,8,10

Biography

Formed: 1980 in Washington D.C.

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '80s

Minor Threat was the definitive Washington, D.C., hardcore punk band, setting the style for the straight-edge punk movement of the early '80s. Led by vocalist Ian MacKaye, the band was staunchly independent and fiercely sober. Through their songs, the group rejected drugs and alcohol, espoused anti-establishment politics, and led a call for self-awareness. Every song was fast, sharp, and lethal, often clocking in at just around a minute. Their speed and fury often hid their fairly catchy melodies,...
