Album Review

The three-song Flower EP released by SST is for the devout fan only. Containing two cuts from their ear-shattering full-length debut, Ultramega OK, the EP also contains one unreleased track, "Toy Box," which isn't necessarily worth the trouble of searching out.

Toy Box is the Best

I dont care what anyone else says toy box is one of soundgarden's best songs. Its got a deep sound without being too heavy and the vocals are amazing. If you say this song isn't worth the buy, i will personally hunt you down and smack you.

Get "Toy Box" Now !

Flower and Head Injury are on the Ultramega OK album that was just recently put up on iTunes. That album, by the way, has "Beyond The Wheel" which is one of the coolest and heaviest Soundgarden songs on any album. Another cool, dark song of theirs is Toy Box, which is on this album. If they had done this song later in their career with the production value that Badmotorfinger and beyond got, this would easily be my favorite Soundgarden song. As it is, it's still top 5 and one of my favorite songs in general. Preview it if you must, but you won't regret 99 centsing this track, i can assure you of that.

Soundgarden, however, developed directly out of the grandiose blues-rock of Led Zeppelin and the sludgy, slow riffs of Black Sabbath. Which isn't to say they were a straight-ahead...
