This really is the second coming...
If you are a nostalgic git like myself and your were way into the Stone Roses, Charlatans, Ride, early Blur etc, you will really dig this record. Although you can definitely detect the homage to said bands, you can also hear a new take with some cool inventive guitar licks. This record is janglerific, can;t get enough. These guys also have a release on Shelflife Records so if you like this one.....
Mood music
I agree with Modbyrd that The Ruling Class is like Ride, Charlatans UK and a lot of bands that came out in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Great sound that provokes a relaxed mood in you. I highly recommend them.
Fantastic brit-pop sound circa 1990-1993
Nothing groundbreaking just straightfoward groovy rocking tunes heavy on tasteful guitar hooks, slick production, shuffling drums and groove driven bass. This should have been the Stone Roses Second Coming. Very remeniscent of the Roses that any loving fun would appreciate. The few songs that I've heard are actually just as good as anything that the Stone Roses ever penned. I check ITunes on a daily basis waiting for these guys to release more material. I have had the fortune to dig up some live tracks online as well as the un-released single "Mariane Shine". I've been waiting for a band that makes me nostalgic for early 90's brit rock and I have finally found them. Thank-you NME radio and ITunes! Also check out Exit Calm if you are in the mood for Vervesque music. This new school of brit bands such as Exit Calm, The Ruling Class and Black Nite Crash will hopefully bring back the sound of the 90's when the world is ready to embrace that era with open arms again.
