Great music, the lyrics need a little work

For those who don't know, this is Head's first single from his album "Save Me From Myself" which was also the title of his first book. Let's start off with the big negative thing about this song: the lyrics. The lyrics are simply not the best as he is singing about his meth/speed addiction. You can tell that this is Head's first attempt at writing lyrics for an entire song/album. The lyrics aren't the worst I have ever heard but they need a little work. So don't expect Korn/JD lyrical depth here. Also, the chorus comes in a little too soon at 46 seconds into the song. Many Korn songs do this though especially their radio friendly titles so it can easily be looked over. Now that I got that out of the way, I can focus on the positives. Head is surprisingly not a bad singer. When he was with Korn, Head would often see the backup vocals during live performances and he sung backup vocals on Korn's first album for the song Ball Tounge. However, when Head sang, he always screamed. So we finally get to hear Head actually sing and scream in this song. The best aspect of the song is the music. The guitars will definitely remind you of Korn from their Issues era but only a little softer in some parts and a little harder in other parts. The drums supply a steady basic beat along with the bass. Head really shines with the guitar though and you can hear that little sound that helped make Korn. Munky is a good guitarist but Head carried something with him and it can definitely be heard in this song. I would have given this song all 5 stars had the lyrics been a little better and the drums not have that Lars affect during the chorus. For those who don't know, the Lars affect is when the drummer simply hits a snare 2-3 times a second for a prolonged period of time. This single definitely makes me want to hear his album though.

Been Their<><

I think it is great. Brian keep Jesus FIRST and He will do Great things trough you. I was on crystal meth for 11 years and lost every thing to find Him. Now he has given me every thing back and purpose. Stay focused! 1Peter 1:15:16
