Katie Simply Soars
I have to say that Katie’s EP is one of the most refreshing recordings I’ve heard in the longest time. The writing is smart, fresh, funny, engaging, melodic and just delightful to listen to. Katie’s performances are just perfection from her intelligent yet spontaneous interpretation to her deliciously polished tone and incredible vocal control. This album is beautifully produced and I honestly cannot get enough of it.
Authentic, charming, and talented.
It is more difficult than it should be to find authenticity among the millions of professional singers in New York City. I've heard voices that function, technically, perfectly. The vibratos are consistent and used flawlessly, the prettiest of timbres, and the clearest of diction, and these voices make me feel nothing. Katie Zaffrann has all of these qualities, plus heart. You feel something when you hear her sing because she allows herself to be genuinely invested in her music. She's found the personal freedom most of us spend our lives longing for, and when she sings about what she's found, you can't help but fall victim to her down-to-earth humility, optimism, and charm. My only regret is that, out of five stars, I can't give her six.
