iTunes Review
Kentucky’s Black Stone Cherry are one of the most appealing young hard rock groups to come around in some time, combining their southern rock roots with the emotive passion of modern hard rock to create a powerful weave of intricate guitar riffing and indelible melodies. Chris Robertson sings with maximum authority and a hint of fragility lurking underneath his machismo blasts, as much Eddie Vedder as Skynyrd’s Ronnie Van Zant. That’s a real “please” he issues during “Please Come In” and there’s pure sentiment behind the haunting ballad “Things My Father Said.” Just as their 2006 self-titled debut exhibited the band’s elevated musicianship, this 2008 follow-up adds to their arsenal of musical chops. Drummer John Fred Young twists the standard hard rock beats with quick, intense flourishes (“Blind Man,” “Reverend Wrinkle”) that give the band an extra edge. “Peace is Free” evolves into a singalong anthem with all members contributing, while “Sunrise” jumpcuts into a reggae groove for its chorus.

BUY THIS ALBUM!!!! YOU WON'T BE SORRY!!!!!!! Been waiting a long time for this one!!!!!! These boys from KY know how to put real music together. Talk about true talent.... I've seen them in concert 4 times and they sound just as good live. You'll never meet anyone more down to earth and genuine.
the way it should be
In my opninion, anyone who is a true music fan will tell you that radio has fallen off and rock and roll is down but not out. Thanks to BSC...its alive again. If Skynyrd and Metallica had love children these would be the newborns. 5 stars for the redeemers of rock. All hail The Cherry
Rock N Roll The Way Its Supposed To Be
Another great album by another great band. Listened through the album once. Maybe one or two songs im not sure about but I know it will grow on me. Just like all the great albums BSC the first album I wasnt sure about but had to listen to it a couple of times and then loved it. It is one of the few cds 2 years later I could still jam out to. One of the better bands I have seen live, saw them a couple weeks ago and going to see them again next month. If you get this cd you wont be disappointed. If you dont already have the first cd get it too. If you havent seen them live go see them. The power of this band live and on cd is amazing. You get your moneys worth out of anything involving Black Stone Cherry.
