by FranciscanThis album was the first CD I ever purchased when I started to move from vinyl. Boy what an album it was too. I still do not tire of it, with Woody's lyrics calling through the years with new life from a well known group of artists. If you like folk or folk rock, acoustic, blues, or even gospel music, this is worth the price of the entire album. The only song I've tired of is "This land is your land" which has been done so often it is sort of worn, but I love hearing Pete Seeger's voice again. I would have loved two Dylan tracks, hey Bruce got two, why not Bobby? Enjoy, and remember: "this guitar kills facists".
"The Meanest Man On The Shiny Iron!"
by Grimmbo.."Was Little East Texas Red!".."A Vision Shared" is an appropriate title to this "Terrific Tribute" of a recording! (We too, saw & taped the PBS Special on "The Making Of: A Vision Shared"; well worth seeking out if it comes around again!) All of the artists involved give their own stories & memories of either seeing & playing with or hearing & being influenced by Woody Guthrie and Leadbelly! My Visions: Pretty Boy Floyd; Jesus Christ; The Bourgois Blues & Sylvie! (Equal ammounts of Leadbelly+Woody=A very well-thought out & executed whole of an album!) "Something For The Working Man (and Woman)" to Enjoy!...by Grimmbo.
