Album Review

Black metal with the happiest keyboards the genre has ever seen, yet still uncompromisingly brutal. "Children of Decadence" could be Emerson, Lake & Palmer, for the love of Beelzebub; such is the level of complexity and prominence of synthesizers. The frightening Finnish fivesome does a nice job of mixing up tempos on this, the band's third studio disc, and manages to keep up the intensity in spite of (or maybe because of) the aural auditory mood swings. You won't even recognize the bonus track cover "Hellion," and it doesn't even matter. [Fontana Universal's 2008 edition included two bonus tracks.] ~ Brian O'Neill, Rovi

One of the Greatest Metal Albums In EXISTANCE!!

This is by far the best album Children of Bodom has created. This album was created when CoB was in its prime, with excellent songs such as Kissing the Shadows, Bodom After Midnight, and Everytime I Die. Truly this album is a Must-Have for any Bodom fan or any serious metal enthusiast.

MELODIC DEATH METAL!!

Let me start out by saying that this is my favorite COB album off all time! This is definitely their best work, followed closely by Hatebreeder. This is melodic death metal at its finest. It's probably my favorite death metal album of all time! Every song is catchy and melodic, but the very best songs are: 1) Kissing the Shadows 2) Hate Me 3) Taste of My Scythe 4) Bodom After Midnight But you might as well get the whole album. It's worth every single last round copper coin

Follow the Reaper

The first COB (or metal) album I ever listened to. I borrowed it in 2006 and by the end of the month I had listened to all the songs at least eighty times. This album has gotten me through my dog biting me in the face (fifteen stitches). The guy I borrowed it from warned me "turn the volume way down otherwise you will s**t yourself". I didn't but my brains flew out of the back of my skull.
